The Lord of the Rings: “The Return of the King”
In The Return of the King, the final book of the trilogy, the forces of good make their last stand against Sauron’s armies. Aragorn steps into his role as the true king of Gondor and leads the defense against Sauron’s forces. Frodo and Sam, meanwhile, struggle through the dangers of Mordor to reach Mount Doom. With the help of Gollum, they finally destroy the One Ring, leading to the fall of Sauron. The book concludes with the return of the heroes to the Shire, where they face new challenges before finding peace. The tale ends with Frodo’s departure to the Undying Lands, leaving Sam to carry on his legacy in the Shire.
